City Care Starts Masterton Contract
City Care has today celebrated the successful start of a water and wastewater utilities maintenance services contract with Masterton District Council.
The contract, City Care's first in the Wairarapa region, has been awarded for an initial three year term. Contract works cover operations and maintenance of the city’s water, wastewater and stormwater networks and water races.
As a result of the contract win, City Care has established a new operational base in Masterton, employing an additional four staff on the contract. Call centre and administration support will be provided from City Care’s Wellington Branch Office.
Masterton District Council’s Assets and Operations Manager, David Hopman, says “of the four contractors short-listed, City Care rated highest in all areas of evaluation.”
Mr Hopman also said City Care’s proposal included “substantial added value in job management and asset data systems that will significantly advance the knowledge assets of our Council.”
Onno Mulder, City Care's Chief Executive, says the company is delighted to be awarded the contract. "Entering the Masterton and greater Wairarapa marketplace is an exciting opportunity for City Care. We look forward to building a strong and beneficial partnership with Masterton District Council to deliver world class service to the local community."
City Care holds similar water and wastewater maintenance contracts with Manukau Water Ltd, Tauranga City Council, Western Bay of Plenty District Council, New Plymouth District Council, South Taranaki District Council, Capacity Infrastructure Service Ltd, Christchurch City Council and Timaru District Council.
