CITY CARE'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

City Care's Board of Directors is appointed by our shareholder, Christchurch City Holdings Ltd (CCHL). The Board is responsible for the proper direction and control of our company's activities. The Board's primary objective is to build long-term shareholder value taking into account due consideration of other stakeholder interests.

All members of the Board are independent non-executive Directors.

Hugh Martyn was appointed as a Director in March 2005. Hugh started his career as a solicitor before moving into corporate management roles. In addition to a Law degree, Hugh holds a Master of Business Administration. Hugh has substantial experience in senior management roles across a number of major companies including PGG, PGG Wrightson, Invacare Corporation Ltd and a number of others.

 

margaret devlinMargaret Devlin, Director

Margaret was appointed as a Director in October 2008. Margaret holds an Honours Degree in Finance and Business Studies from the University of Ulster and is a Chartered Environmentalist. Margaret was previously the Managing Director of South East Water Limited and has substantial experience within the United Kingdom water sector, having represented the water industry at local, national and European level. She has been an active contributor to the development of the water industry agenda through effective stakeholder management with Government, regulators and investors.

Gary Leech2gary leech, Director

Gary Leech was appointed as a Director on 31 October 2014. Gary has a B.Com in Accountancy & Economics from Canterbury University. He is a Fellow of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants and an Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors. He has been a Chartered Accountant in public practice in Ashburton and Christchurch for 40 years and is the founding principal of Leech & Partners Ltd and has served NZICA as a member of the Disciplinary Tribunal (20 years), National Councillor, Canterbury Branch Chair and several national committees and is currently a member of the Appeals Council. Gary has significant governance experience as a director in listed and unlisted companies in a wide range of industries requiring a range of skills and disciplines including; banking, infrastructure, construction, export, agri-business, manufacturing and commercial property.

Craig PriceCraig Price, Director

Craig Price was appointed as a Director in October 2012. Craig holds an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Craig is a Director of Beca and Regional Manager of their South Island Business. He has particular skills in the business, contract and project management areas across the infrastructure, industrial and building sectors, with special competence in directing the delivery of major engineering projects. Craig is a Member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors and an Accredited Director. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Professional Engineers NZ.

Jen Rolfejennifer rolfe, director

Jennifer Rolfe was appointed as a Director on 31 October 2014. Jennifer holds a First Class Honours Degree in Marketing Management from the University of Otago and has spent her professional career running a number of the country's biggest and most successful multinational advertising agencies. She is an experienced senior marketing strategist, having worked with many of New Zealand's top companies and brands, with a particular emphasis on data and digital innovation in marketing. She is currently Managing Partner of a successful, highly-awarded and independent advertising agency, Rainger and Rolfe. Jennifer has served on a number of boards over the last 10 years.

Mark Todd was appointed as a Director in October 2012. Mark has a Masters’ Degree in Accountancy from the University of Canterbury. He was until late 2015 an Executive Director of ASX and NZX listed retailer Kathmandu Holdings Limited, where his executive management roles over a 17 year career included Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Mark has extensive experience in growth strategy development and execution, the sale and listing of companies and trans-Tasman business. He is a Member of the Institute of Directors and a Chartered Accountant.

Madeleine Martin was appointed as an Intern Director in October 2016. Madeleine holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of Canterbury and a Commerce Degree from Lincoln University. Additionally she has completed a Masters in Engineering Studies, Medical Devices and Technologies through the University of Auckland. Madeleine is the General Manager of Ossis Ltd, an orthopaedic engineering company in Christchurch, designing and manufacturing 3D printed custom orthopaedic implants for joint reconstruction throughout New Zealand and Australia. She has additional engineering experience with respiratory humidification devices and micro hydro turbine schemes.
